Abstract:
Location: Lord Howe Island (UNESCO World Heritage Listed)
Venue: Community Hall, Lagoon Road
Opening hours: 2pm 14 August 2011 GMT
Ticket prices: See conference website for registration details
Call for submissions: Call for abstracts closes 16 May 2011
The aim of this conference is to foster international collaborations and strategies for funding through a global effort in five key areas of artificial photosynthesis:
• global collaborations, governance and policy structures and models
• energy capture — including photovoltaic systems
• energy conversion and storage — including hydrogen production
• carbon fixation and
• modified and synthetic biological processes.
We hope this will be the first of a series of conferences on the theme of creating a Global Artificial Photosynthesis (GAP) project. It is envisaged that a set of draft principles and related publication on the topic of a Global Collaboration on Artificial Photosynthesis will be prepared as a result of the conference.
The conference will showcase the research of some of the world's leading experts in artificial photosynthesis, photovoltaics, hydrogen production, nanotechnology and global governance.
Special low registration, travel and accommodation rates apply
