Abstract:
Iranian researchers managed to implement some considerable modifications to printers' ink, which could be used for all types of printers.
Despite the continuous development of digital media, printing has still remained as the most major means of information transferring/broadcasting in such a way that even the digital age has not been able to ignore it.
Nanotechnology has also contributed to this area and Iranian researchers have managed to implement some considerable modifications to printers' ink. Composed of plant and mineral materials, their modified inks, with the trademark of Gama Inks, are said to be applicable to any printer types.
According to TajhizGama Co. Ltd., the supplier of this product presented at Iran Nano 2010 Festival, Gama inks would not dry in the printhead nozzles for about a month. This is surprisingly a big amount of time knowing that conventional printer inks dry out within a few days in case of being stagnant.
Moreover, by decreasing the volume and weight as well as improving printing process speed and quality, these nano inks provide high quality prints on 80 g papers very similar to those of on-photo glassy papers.
To name the advantages of Gama Inks, one may point to the 40% decrease in ink vaporization inside cartridges, the increased contrast on paper (up to 60%), the extended natural color span, its complete eco-compatibility, and its economic price.
