INIC Head: Iran to Compete with Developed Countries in Nanotechnology

Iran | Posted on October 26th, 2010

"Today, Iran undoubtedly has a competitive edge in the field of nanotechnology considering the mass of its productions in this area. However, we should remind that we just passed the hillsides of nanotechnology and there's still a long road to reach the summit," Sarkar said.

"On the other hand, it's like rock climbing for which it is necessary to endorse this novel science well. Iran should be able to keep the flag of science and technology flying within the Islamic world," he added.

He also referred to the presence of foreign countries in the Festival, and said, "Representatives of Austria, Russia, Britain, Malaysia, South Korea, and Nigeria will present their nanotechnology related innovations in the Festival."

He also mentioned the presence of 70 manufacturing companies at Iran Nano 2010, and reiterated, "The products of these companies are hopefully commercialized. We see that some Iranian products come to the international marketplaces."

The Third International Nanotechnology Festival (Iran Nano 2010) started work in halls 10-13 at Tehran's International Permanent Fairground. The Festival (October 25 to 29) is open to the public as of Monday from 9:00 am to 19:00 pm.
