Home > Press > Iran Publishes 2nd National Nanotechnology Standard
Abstract:
The second National Nanotechnology Standard entitled 'Nanotechnology - Health and Safety in Nano Occupational Settings - Code of Practices' was published in Iran.
The Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI/TC229) prepared and devised the standard after studying and carrying out research, and by using the published standards of ISO, ASTM, and NIOSH.
The purpose of devising 'Nanotechnology - Health and Safety in Nano Occupational Settings - Code of Practices' is to present guidelines that help to the creation of specific controls in order to maintain the safety and security of the workers and the environment in nanotechnology fields of working.
The standard is applicable in all nanotechnology working places. The managers, specialists, and employees of the working places can apply the codification in order to create a healthy working place, to maintain the safety of the employees, to educate the employees, to devise exclusive directories and to prepare the required safety facilities and equipment.
In the 242nd meeting of the Biotechnology National Committee, the Standard was approved as the Iranian national standard by the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran and it was published in the website of Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran under the registration number ISIRI 12325.
