Abstract:
Micro- and nanotechnology are key technologies that generate unique advanced and novel products, which are applied all over the world in many industries, like medical technology, mechanical engineering, production, the automotive industry or consumer electronics. In spite of the current economic crisis, micro and nano products are still reaching double-digit growth rates, for instance micro sensors for boom markets like green technologies and consumer electronics.

IVAM Research presents new survey on micro- and nanotechnology in Germany to the international community

Dortmund, Germany | Posted on May 18th, 2010

Micro- and nanotechnology companies in Germany are successful players on global markets. IVAM Research has now compiled the activities in these areas in Germany in a comprehensive survey. The "Micro/Nano Atlas of Germany" has first been presented to the public during the annual summit of the international microtechnology community, the Micromachine Summit 2010, which took place in Dortmund at the end of April.

The "Micro/Nano Atlas of Germany" gives a complete and unique overview over the micro- and nanotechnology industry in Germany, including research activities and priorities in six federal states and 38 regional clusters. In addition, the survey describes the federal funding policy, market and application trends, and the current economic situation of the German micro- and nanotechnology industry. IVAM managing director Uwe Kleinkes is going to present the survey in the USA and Japan, at the conference Metric in San José, California this week, and during the exhibition and conference Micromachine/MEMS in Tokyo at the end of July.

The "Micro/Nano Atlas of Germany" is available from IVAM Research. As a supplement to the survey, IVAM Research offers a comprehensive database of micro- and nanotechnology companies and research institutions - the Nano Guide of Germany.
