RavenBrick's Intelligent Window Filter Receives 54 Patent Approvals in Record Time

With unprecedented speed, the U.S. Patent Office has issued a notice of allowance to RavenBrick for 54 of 54 patent claims for its RavenWindow solar heat blocking window filter technology. The patent approval underscores RavenBrick's technological leadership and innovation in applying nanotechnology to the emerging multi-billion-dollar green building industry.

RavenBrick delivers the industry's only automated, intelligent, market-ready window filter; it automatically blocks solar heat when the outside temperature is too hot, while allowing solar heat inside when the outside temperature is cold. RavenBrick smart-window filters use no electricity, wiring or control systems. They can cut building owners' energy costs and consumption by as much as 50 percent, meanwhile making interior spaces more comfortable by reducing overheating, drafting and glare.

"We are obviously pleased to receive a perfect score on the allowance notice for the RavenWindow-ER technology, and that it was achieved in just nine short months. I view this as a clear indicator that our technology is highly valued by builders and building owners who appreciate energy efficiency and cost reductions," said Alex Burney, RavenBrick CEO. "Now we have the sole right to manufacture and market this technology."

With this approval, RavenBrick will continue to form agreements with leading glass manufacturers that incorporate RavenBrick's filter into their lines of windows for commercial developments. Already, the company is in distribution discussions with virtually all of the globe's largest glass companies. RavenWindow will also be incorporated into what is being called ‘the greenest building in America': the headquarters building for the Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colo.
