Grant lifts nanotech research
Abstract:
A subsidiary of NanoDynamics Inc. of Buffalo received a $100,000 contract from the National Institutes of Health supporting development of nanotechnology-based applications to fight infections.
The ND Life Sciences division in Pittsburgh received a six-month Phase I SBIR contract from the NIH National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
ND Life Sciences develops nanomaterials and nano-enabled technologies specifically for applications in biotechnology and medicine. The contract, which took effect this September, will support NanoDynamics' joint efforts with the University of Pittsburgh to address infection associated with ventricular assist devices (VADs), and specifically the drivelines of these devices.
