Abstract:
In November 2007 a master agreement between Invitek Biotechnology & Biodesign Ltd., Allrun Nano Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Research Institute of Micro/Nano Science & Technology in Shanghai Jiao Tong University was signed at the 3rd International Nanotechnology Cooperation Symposium in Shanghai, China. Within this agreement the stragetic cooperation for development of new and innovative separation procedures of biomolecules (nucleic acids, proteins) and cells as well as of novel detection procedures by means of paramagnetic nanoparticles was concluded. The corporate development projects are appointed for the next three years.

The resolved master agreement is based on the already existing and successful collaboration of Invitek, Allrun and the Research Institute of Micro/Nano Science & Technology, one of the leading international scientific institutions in the field of nano sciences. In summer 2007 first results were successfully demonstrated by introducing a new generation of superparamagnetic nanoparticles.

Therewith Invitek extended considerably its product portfolio for manual and fully automated magnetic extraction of nucleic acids. The high-performance paramagnetic nanobeads (InviMag® nano), that have first been introduced at the Biotechnica 2007 exhibition in Hannover in October, can be covered with different surfaces of variable functionalities. Because of its special characteristics the InviMag® nano particles are highly suitable for the standardzitation in molecular diagnostics.
