Abstract:
Research and Markets ( http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c75884 ) has announced the addition of "Australia Industrial Nanotechnology 2006" to their offering.
The "Australia Industrial Nanotechnology Report 2006" is the culmination of a comprehensive analysis of commercially available, original Nanotechnology and Nanotechnology enhanced products produced in Australia.
From the over 100 Nanotechnology firms investigated a selection of the 57 most active and to be watched firms made it into this report. Companies were analyzed for their degree of engagement in development or production of Nanotechnologies as well as capacity to produce at industrial scale.
What is included in this report?
The report only covers companies which reside in Australia. Only companies with demonstrated industrial scale activities of producing original Nanotechnology products or Nanotechnology enhanced products have been included in this report. The main criteria for companies to be considered for inclusion in this report were their capitalization, assets, annual turnover, size of workforce, actual production capacity, unique position within the industry and readiness for expansion, licensing and foreign partnership or investment.
This is the first report about Industrial Nanotechnology in Australia. Many of the 57 companies included in this report are developing and producing for the domestic as well as overseas market. Each company report includes company contact details; relevant data about company fundamentals and staff; organizational structure including any controlling parent companies or previous trading names; product range, specification, production capacity; as well as illustrations of company facilities and product examples.
What is not included in this report?
About 100 companies and organisations in Australia have been reported to be involved in the development and production of nanoscale materials and technology and Nanotechnology enhanced products. The number of Nanotechnology companies in Australia is growing steadily at a rate of currently ten per year. Only a fraction of the widely published figure of Nanotechnology companies in Australia has some meaningful production output (if at all), or financial turnover or dedicated full time employees.
In our selection of companies we excluded academic organisations acting as companies. Also excluded were the many very small companies affiliated to academic organisations which frequently run on a part time basis by academics or are under academic directorship.
Also not included are companies where we were unable to verify claims of active Nanotechnology development, Nanotechnology products or Nanotechnology usage in production or where we were unable to verify their legal status. Some Nanotechnology companies active in the service industry as well as a few companies that were still in the process of changing ownership at time of printing are listed at the end of the report and are not included in the formal part of this report.
