Brazil Govt Unveils BRL41 Bln Science, Tech Investment Plan
Abstract:
Brazil's government Tuesday unveiled a 41.2 billion Brazilian real ($23.5 billion) program to boost investment in science and technology research.
The plan, which was announced by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, will direct funds toward public and private sector research through 2010.
Government officials said the plan will focus on research in the areas of biotechnology, nanotechnology, communications, health, energy, biodiversity, climate, space, nuclear science and national defense.
