Abstract:
RASIRC™, the steam purification company, announces it has been selected by CONNECT as a Finalist for the 2007 Most Innovative New Product "MIP" Awards for its RainMaker Humidification System (RHS). Now in its 20th year, the CONNECT MIP Award showcases San Diego companies with cutting-edge high technology and has been a leading indicator of the industries and technologies that have stimulated the San Diego economy.

RASIRC Selected as CONNECT Finalist for the 2007 Most Innovative New Product “MIP” Awards

San Diego, CA | Posted on November 6th, 2007

RASIRC's RainMaker Humidification System is the first and only system to generate, purify, and control the flow rate and delivery of precise amounts (below 1 mg/min) of ultra-pure water vapor. This provides an accurate and repeatable solution to a problem that has vexed process engineers working on carbon nanotubes and other thin films.

Precise control of water vapor is essential for the manufacture of carbon nanotubes, semiconductors, photovoltaic cells, and pharmaceuticals. No alternative technology, including bubblers, torches, and direct liquid injection, can deliver precise control of water vapor and at the same time remove particles, dissolved gases, and ionic impurities.

"The progression from an idea to the launch of a new product is a significant milestone," said Duane J. Roth, CEO CONNECT. "This year we received over ninety nominations, demonstrating the strength and diversity of our region's technology and life science industries."

The next phase of the competition is a presentation to a panel of judges comprised of San Diego's top business and civic leaders. Winners will be announced December 14, 2007 at a luncheon for over 800 of San Diego's top executives, entrepreneurs, service providers, and academics.

CONNECT is the globally recognized public benefits organization fostering entrepreneurship in the San Diego region by catalyzing, accelerating, and supporting the growth of the most promising technology and life sciences businesses.
