Abstract:
The international conference of NANOSPIN scientific consortium was held in Zelenograd (Moscow, Russia) on September 24-26. NT-MDT being a member of the project for three years became the organizer and sponsor of the event this time.

NANOSPIN annual meeting in NT-MDT

Moscow, Russia | Posted on October 22nd, 2007

The managers of the main NANOSPIN working groups from leading universities of Great Britain, Greece, Italy, Spain, Russia and Ukraine participated the meeting.

NANOSPIN was launched in 2004 as an EU funded project in the context of SIXTH FRAMEWORK PROGRAMME - Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences.

The overall scientific purpose is to design and prepare complex magnetic nanoparticles and to study their properties. In the near future unique magnetic properties of nanoparticles will give a possibility to create data storage taking the lead over hard disks of modern computers in capacity and speed.

The NT-MDT purpose is to design very high-resolution MFM tips and special MFM devices. NT-MDT scientists demonstrated tips enabling MFM images with resolution of 10 nm. Moreover, a compact device for scanning probe read/write of data in magnetic particle arrays built by NT-MDT was also demonstrated on the conference.
Guests of the conference mentioned perfect organization and hospitality of the host company.
