Lux Executive Summit to feature tour of MIT’s Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies

Cambridge, MA | Posted on October 11th, 2007

The third annual Lux Executive Summit begins with a bang, as attendees are given an exclusive tour of the $50 million Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies (ISN) at MIT. The October 14 tour will only be made available to registered Lux Executive Summit attendees.

The ISN pursues a long-range goal for developing technologies that can make soldiers less vulnerable to enemy and environmental threats. The ultimate goal is to create a 21st century battlesuit that combines high-tech capabilities with lightweight and comfort. Lux Executive Summit delegates will have the opportunity to view some of the recent innovations and inventions that have come out of the institution since it was founded in March 2002 through a $50 million contract from the U.S. Army.

During the main event on October 15-16, the Lux Executive Summit will convene the world's leaders in science-driven innovation focusing on cleantech, nanotech, and post-silicon electronics. Keynote speakers include Kleiner Perkins partner Bill Joy, Sycamore Networks founder Desh Deshpande, Lockheed Martin CTO Ray Johnson and Nobel Laureate Robert B. Laughlin. The Summit is an elite forum where leaders from corporations, start-ups, and financial institutions meet to learn and transact. Speaker, sponsors, and attendees learn from Lux Research's proprietary data and ideas presented at the conference, and make personal connections with other senior executives that lead to collaboration, investment, and other opportunities.

2007 Lux Executive Summit sponsors include: Motorola, Invest in Germany, Foley & Lardner LLP, Altair Nanotechnologies, Cambridge Display Technology, Ecology Coatings, Ecosynthetix, Evident Technologies, Gradient Corporation, Lumera, Nanofilm, Oxonica, SDC Materials, TekSUN PV, Unidym, AEPI, Day Pitney LLP, IntelliSense, and Scottish Development International.

The conference will be held at the Charles Hotel in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 14-16, 2007. Capacity is limited at this premier event; additional details are available online at http://www.luxexecutivesummit.com .
