Houston Technology Center Hosts Its Annual Technology Showcase

HOUSTON, TX | Posted on October 9th, 2007

Houston Technology Center (HTC), a business accelerator that assists Houston-based emerging technology companies, will host today more than 40 Client and Graduate Companies presenting the latest emerging technologies in Houston, during its 4th annual Houston Technology Showcase.

This year's Technology Showcase will focus on the current technology landscape, trends, opportunities and impact. The daylong event will include a luncheon program with four keynote speakers. In addition to the luncheon program and showcase, the event will present a first-ever special breakfast honoring Gulf Coast companies who have received awards from the Texas Emerging Technology Fund (ETF) featuring a keynote address from Secretary of State, Phil Wilson.

Created in 2005, the ETF has given to date nearly $10 million dollars to Gulf Coast companies for research and technological advances.

"In addition to Secretary Wilson's keynote, this year's Technology Showcase will also include a luncheon panel featuring a variety of speakers who have excelled in HTC's key sectors including energy, life sciences, nanotechnology and NASA/ aerospace technologies."

This year, Houston Technology Center will honor the nine companies who have received funding earlier this year including Carbon Nanotube Acceleration Project (CNAP), CorInnova Incorporated, Endothelix, Inc., itRobotics, Inc., Lynntech, Inc., molecular LogiX, NanoComposites, Inc., Nanospectra Biosciences, Inc. and PLx Pharma, Inc. In addition, Secretary Wilson will announce during today's event several new awards for Gulf Coast Region companies.
