Abstract:
The annual MIT Research and Development Conference will be held November 14-15, 2007. The one-and-one-half day conference will showcase a broad sampling of the Institute's most exciting and relevant research, from such diverse fields as biotechnology, energy, neuroscience, information technology, photonics and nanotechnology.
This program will be framed by industry leaders and MIT faculty who will share their thoughts on some of the world's most pressing challenges, and MIT researchers will present how work in their labs is yielding new approaches, capabilities and solutions. Seven general session speakers will feature MIT's Tyler Jacks and Rudolf Jaenisch speaking respectively on Designing the Future of Cancer Research, and Molecular Circuitry and the Reprogramming of Somatic Cells in vitro. Industry speakers will include Mark Little of GE Global Research, David Morse of Corning, Inc., and Christian Koehler of Booz Allen Hamilton.
In addition to two general sessions, attendees will choose among concurrent technology tracks with themes that include: Renewable Energy, Green Manufacturing, Convergence of Electronics and Photonics, Chemistry, Tissue Engineering, Communications/IT, and Low Power Computing.
The Research and Development Conference is part of the MIT Industrial Liaison Program's Technology and the Corporation conference series. More information on the conference, including complete agenda, brochure and registration, can be found at ilp- http://www.mit.edu/events/RD2007 .
