Nanotech launch builds community
Abstract:
The University of Massachusetts is drawing national attention due to pioneering efforts in nanotechnology.
UMass's Center for Hierarchical Manufacturing (CHM) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) joined forces to bring a sense of community to those involved in nanomanufacturing. The CHM hosts the community's open access network, a Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center.
"Launching and facilitating the National Nanomanufacturing Network [NNN] is a vitally important component of our research center," said James Watkins, director of the CHM. "The network will provide an efficient way for academic research centers, industry and government to cooperate, advance nanomanufacturing research and development and help build a strong community of practice."
