Abstract:
More than 120 CEO's from around the world to discuss international investment flow in Dubai.
Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region's premier integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, today announced it will host the 17th International Electronics Forum (IEF) 2008 for the first time in the Middle East, from 7-9 May, 2008, at the Madinat Jumeirah.
The forum acts as a valuable networking platform for executives and professionals in the semiconductor, electronics and related industries. Specialists in designing, production, investment, strategic planning, marketing, business development, distribution, finance, and education will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge base from in-depth presentations on the industry's latest trends.
Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), said: "In today's fast moving world, it is vital to stay well informed in the electronics industry. The huge success of the previous forums has earned this event a high international reputation. Presidents, CEOs, managing directors and business development managers recognise the IEF's remarkable relevance to the industry, and find such an event a unique opportunity to exchange ideas on international expansion and offshore investment."
She noted that by hosting such a prestigious event, DSO will emphasise its role as a state-of-the-art 'Technology Oasis', and a globally-recognised hub. She added: "The forum will significantly contribute to DSO's mission to facilitate and promote hi-tech industries in the region. These industries depend on the design, development and manufacturing of precision electronics, optoelectronic technology, nanotechnology, and photovoltaic technology supported by the semiconductor industry.
Commenting on this prestigious event, Malcom Penn, Chairman and CEO of Future Horizon - the organizing company for this international event, said: "Dubai is famous for its premier position and unique economic performance. This makes the emirate the right place for work and investment. The Emirate of Dubai is considered the first choice for international technology companies looking to enter the region and tap into its markets, for its strategic location accompanied with its business environment and access to talents."
The three-day forum will witness the presence of senior executives spanning the entire industry spectrum, especially from industries which are built around the production of information and communications technologies, using semiconductors.
