Tools for seeing tiny materials lead Gatan Inc. to growth

Abstract:
Scientific imaging specialist Gatan Inc. will double its Pleasanton office space in November, making more room for its growing staff and the development of new lines of equipment.

Gatan's sales have nearly doubled too over the past five years as demand for its electron microscope accessories and associated software has grown in the life science, nanotechnology and semiconductor industries. Its products, frequently incorporated by other scientific equipment makers, are used to study everything from the molecular structure of proteins and viruses to the chemical makeup of integrated circuits and other tiny objects.
