Abstract:
Platypus Technologies, LLC a life sciences nanotechnology company has been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for $600,000 from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The funds will be used to develop hepatitis screening assays that can simultaneously detect multiple proteins from a single sample. The assays will utilize the Company's proprietary liquid crystal-based technology for rapid detection of molecular interactions. Platypus Technologies has received over $15.5 million in federal funding to develop nanotechnology products for the physical and life sciences.
