IEST Fall Conference to Feature New Educational Topics

ROLLING MEADOWS, IL | Posted on September 11th, 2007

Some of the newest opportunities this year are the Airborne Contamination Control in Healthcare Facilities tutorial; the initial meeting of Working Group 205, Nanotechnology Safety: Applying Prevention through Design Principles to Nanotechnology Facilities; and a two-day "Access the Experts" onsite course on Vibration Basics A-Z.

The new tutorial, Airborne Contamination Control in Healthcare Facilities, will focus on healthcare associated infection (HAI), including contributing factors and how technology developed for ultra-clean manufacturing facilities can be utilized to help reduce HAI. Joseph McGill of McGill Cleanroom Technology will instruct the course.

A recent IEST online education course, Cleanroom Housekeeping, had a record attendance for the Access the Experts Series. An expanded version of this tutorial with a more hands-on and interactive approach will be presented at the Fall Conference. Participants will not want to miss this opportunity to be taught by the Chair of the United States Technical Advisory Group (TAG) to ISO Technical Committee (TC) 209, Anne Marie Dixon of Cleanroom Management Associates, Inc.

In addition, a number of other tutorials will be offered, including two tutorial certificate programs. Registrants who attend all three tutorials in the popular ISO Series Program will receive a certificate. The program, which includes Understand the ISO Series; Testing to Determine the Classification of Air Cleanliness; and Testing Cleanroom Performance tutorials, is a must for any industry professional interested in learning about the requirements in ISO 14644-1, ISO 14644-2, and ISO 14644-3. The Sterilization Certificate Program will offer tutorials on Microbiology and Sterilization. These tutorials will cover terms and concepts on microbiology and disinfection, and radiation and ethylene oxide sterilization methods used in the medical devices industry.
