Abstract:
Technology Review today announced the TR35 for 2007 - 35 accomplished men and women under the age of 35 who exemplify the spirit of innovation in business, technology and the arts. Doing ground-breaking work in energy, nanotechnology, biotechnology, computing, medicine, telecommunications and the Web, these young individuals stand out for their unique contributions to society.
Technology Review also announced the selection of Tapan Parikh from the University of Washington as the Humanitarian of the Year and David Berry of Flagship Ventures as Innovator of the Year (see related press release). The 2007 TR35 also includes individuals from well-known organizations and institutions such as Brown University, Caltech, Digg, École Supérieure d'Electricité (SUPÉLEC), Facebook, Hewlett-Packard Labs, Microsoft, MIT, Netvibes, Philips Research Europe, Princeton University, the University of Alicante and the University of Washington.
"The quality and breadth of accomplishment of the 2007 TR35 winners is truly amazing," said Jason Pontin, editor in chief and publisher of Technology Review. "We honor them for their achievements today and into the future."
The 2007 TR35 were selected from more than 300 submissions by the editors of Technology Review in collaboration with a prestigious panel of judges from leading organizations such as Cisco Systems, del.icio.us, Harvard Medical School, IBM, MIT, Novell, Stanford University, Texas A&M, Wikipedia, and Xerox. TR35 winners will be profiled in the September/October issue of Technology Review and online at http://www.technologyreview.com/tr35/. In addition, the 2007 Emerging Technologies Conference to be held September 25-27 at MIT will honor the winners in a series of ‘Meet the TR35' presentations and receptions.
