Extreme future awaits
Abstract:
During today's conference general session, I had the pleasure of listening to Dr. James Canton deliver the keynote address. Knowing that I would listen to Dr. Canton today, I recently finished reading his book, "The Extreme Future."
It was a captivating read that I have written about on my blog, mjsblog.jenaly.com. Dr. Canton's fundamental message is that the convergence of nanotechnology, neurotechnology, biotechnology and IT will fuel the future of humanity.
He relates these four key components to all aspects of human existence, from climate change, to computing, to health care, to human enhancement and the expansion of the worldwide population, including the emergence of new mega cities, just to name a few of his thought provoking points.
