Abstract:
Platypus Technologies, LLC is pleased to announce that Dr. Jeff Williams has joined the Company as CEO as of July, 16 2007. Dr. Williams' vast experience and skills will be valuable as Platypus transitions from a start-up to a growth-phase company. Prior to joining Platypus, Dr. Williams served as Senior Vice President and was responsible for product development at Asuragen. Before joining Asuragen, he was Vice President and General Manager of Ambion Diagnostics where he was responsible for the successful commercialization of several FDA-regulated diagnostic products. In addition, Dr. Williams spent over 10 years at Roche Diagnostics where he held several senior level positions, and he was a Vice President at Roche Applied Science during the launch of the LightCycler and many new PCR-based products for life science and diagnostic markets. As a precursor to his time at Roche Applied Science, Dr. Williams was Director of Operations at Roche Molecular Systems and was responsible for the production of all Roche PCR products. Dr. Williams began his career in the bio/pharmaceutical industry at Promega Corporation where he spent six years as Director of Operations. Dr. Williams received both his BS and PhD degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
