The Board of Directors of Atlas Mining Company (OTCBB:ALMI), is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert L. Dumont as the Company's new President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Dumont brings a wealth of mining and financial expertise to Atlas, having spent over 20 years in senior positions with both financial institutions and natural resource companies.

Mr. Dumont most recently served as Executive Vice President, Business Strategies and Development and acting Chief Financial Officer at Idaho General Mines, Inc. Mr. Dumont holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Idaho. Mr. William Jacobson, who has successfully guided the Company's development over the past 11 years, will remain as the Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Jacobson said, "I am very pleased that someone of Robert Dumont's character and talent is joining Atlas. His experience and abilities will serve the Company well as it moves to its next stage of development. Mr. Dumont will focus his efforts on the continued development of the Company's nanotechnology business and the Dragon Mine halloysite deposit, as well as growing the Company's mining business."
