Scots 500-GHz startup gets funding from VC group
Abstract:
Xanic Ltd. (Glasgow, Scotland), a company formed to commercialize high-frequency compound semiconductor process technology and transistors, is set to receive up to £280,000 (about $570,000) of investment from IP Group plc (London) alongside up to £120,000 (about $250,000) from the Glasgow and Strathclyde University Synergy Fund.
Xanic intends to commercialize 50-nm GaAs mHEMT technology developed at the University of Glasgow's Electrical and Electronics Department and design and manufacture ICs operating in the 50-GHz to 500-GHz frequency band.
