Nanotechnology pays off for BASF
Abstract:
BASF has extended the availability of its nano additive-based High Flow system for its Ultradur PBT range, launched at K2004, across the entire grade slate for the polymer and is studying uses for the technology in other materials.
Demand for the High Flow Ultradur product, which typically gives twice the flow of comparable standard grades, resulting in shorter cycle times, has been such that it is now available across 15 grades.
Reviewing the product's success at a preview of BASF's offering at this year's K show, technical marketer Dr Andreas Eipper said 20 ongoing serial applications are employing the technology with Bosch and Tyco featuring on the list.
