Nanotech looms large in Midwest, experts say
Abstract:
The Midwest is a leader in nanotechnology, Wyant told reporters and editors from nine newspapers at a biosciences seminar.
"When people talk about, ‘Everything is going on in the East and West coasts,' they're wrong," he said. "A lot of it is going on here."
One yardstick is the number of nanotechnology publications, he said. California leads the U.S. with 1,807, but Illinois is second with 1,173. Ohio is seventh, with 479; Michigan, eighth, with 354; and Indiana 13th, with 278.
