S. Korean scientists develop biosensor for molecule analysis
Abstract:
A group of South Korean scientists said Monday they have developed an improved sensor for analyzing human molecules that can help diagnose diseases and contribute to the development of treatments.
The highly sensitive nano sensor can detect biomolecules by analyzing a change in "permittivity" between a pair of electrodes, according to the team led by Choi Yang-kyu, a professor at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).
Permittivity is the quality of a material that allows it to store an electrical charge, experts say.
