Dr. Gary W. Beall Joins NaturalNano's Board of Directors

ROCHESTER, NY | Posted on June 7th, 2007

NaturalNano, Inc. (OTCBB: NNAN) (FRANKFURT: N3N) ( http://www.naturalnano.com ), an innovative materials science company, today announced the election of Dr. Gary W. Beall to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Beall is an expert in the physical properties of nanoclays and their use in composites, making him an ideal fit for NaturalNano and their halloysite clay nanotube Pleximer products. In the 1990s, he was a founder and Vice President of Nanocor, Inc., one of the pioneers in the field of nanoclay composite materials. Dr. Beall is currently a Professor of Chemistry at Texas State University at San Marcos and Director of The Center for Nanophase Research, and is a highly valued nanotechnology consultant.

"Gary has expertise in every facet of the field of nanoclays, from mining and research to manufacturing and commercialization," Cathy Fleischer, PhD, President and CTO of NaturalNano, stated. "The breadth of his experience and its relevance to our Company is incredible. He will play a key advisory role in our technical and commercialization efforts."

Dr. Beall stated, "I believe there is a great market opportunity for proprietary adaptations of halloysite nanotubes in the nanocomposites industry, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products. I am excited to be a part of the team leading the effort to secure a large part of those markets for this morphologically unique nanoclay material."

Dr. Beall has more than 20 years experience in research, development, processing, and commercialization of products utilizing advanced nanomaterials. After receiving his BS in Chemistry from Tarleton State University in 1972 and his PhD in Physical Chemistry from Baylor University in 1975, he worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Radian Corp., Weston, Inc., United Catalysts, Inc., and Technical Minerals, Inc. before co-founding Nanocor, Inc. in 1992. He moved to academia in 1999 at Missouri Baptist College before accepting his current post at Texas State University in 2001.

In 2000, Dr. Beall contributed to and co-edited the first book on polymer/nanoclay composites, which is now in its third printing. Dr. Beall is on the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Clay Science, Nanoexpress, and Nanotech Briefs. He has published more than 90 papers and holds 42 U.S. patents, of which 24 deal with nanotechnology. He is a member of the American Chemical Society.
