GOP candidate wants to attract new businesses

Abstract:
Howard, 60, is running against Democratic incumbent Bill Grace and independent Timothy "Tim" Quinn. Howard said new tactics must be used to attract new jobs after the Fortune 500 companies either cut operations or closed down. Howard, who works as a substitute teacher and salesman of health supplements, said he would like to serve as the city's salesman to attract a new kind of business.
"We have to concentrate on biotechnology and nanotechnology," he said. "You have to be a salesperson and go out and get this business."
