Science meet kicks off at Khuman Lampak

However, the importance of science and technological development seems to be not aware in the North eastern States including Manipur, he observed. He pointed out that Manipur has lot of resources, but these are yet to be exploited technologically and cited the example of suitability of the soil for plantation of Orange in the hill areas but not able to reap the fruit due to lack of technological knowledge on its proper cultivation. Along with the Science modal exhibition of the students coming from various schools of Manipur, interesting programmes like the Poster & Photo exhibition, IT shows, Model Competition, Science Explaining miracles, puppet show, face to face with distinguished scientists, scientific film shows, science drama, Tara Mandal (Planetarium), etc would be organised over the next five days of the Science Meet. Science talk: As a part of the ongoing Science Meet 2007 at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, a direct interaction programme with distinguished scientists will be organised by the Manipur Association for the Promotion of Science (MAPS) at 11:30 am tomorrow, informed a MAPS release. During the programme, HOD, Chemistry MU Prof N Rajmuhon will talk on ‘Turning Points' and BARC scientist Dr N Raghumani on ‘Nanotechnology and Its Implications', it added.
