Nanophotonics pioneer offers public lecture
Abstract:
The third WINS workshop will feature a public lecture by a pioneer in the promising field of nanophotonics.
Professor Naomi Halas from Rice University has developed nanoshells, a new type of nanoparticle that is designed to selectively absorb or scatter light in a special wavelength region.
These nanoshells are being developed into a suite of applications in the human body, for use in drug delivery devices, as instantaneous diagnostic tests and as a novel, nanoengineered cancer therapy.
