Justice selected for science training

Abstract:
State Supreme Court Justice Matthew A. Rosenbaum has been chosen to participate in a national program that trains judges to preside over cases with complex scientific issues.

Rosenbaum, who was appointed to the court in 2005 and elected to a 14-year-term later that year, is one of three New York judges — and the only one outside New York City — to attend the Advanced Science and Technology Adjudication Resource Program.

Rosenbaum of Penfield will be trained with other judges in Annapolis, Md. They'll take courses on genetics and genetic testing, diseases, stem cell research, nanotechnology and computer science.
