AKRON, OH | Posted on April 16th, 2007

The summit is designed to connect those who generate knowledge with those who commercialize that knowledge. In his keynote address, Uldrich will explain why nanotechnology is vital to the future of all companies that want to sustain competitive advantage and growth. He will document the flurry of nanotechnology research that is taking place in the R&D labs of Fortune 500 companies, universities and federal government labs around the world; as well as introduce some of the most promising developments on the near-term horizon. He will conclude by explaining how nanotechnology will affect virtually every business and describe the concrete steps that everyone can - and must - begin taking today in order to prepare for the sweeping changes that nanotechnology will create tomorrow.

The Summit will explore how nanotechnology is having a real impact on products and processes. The 2007 program features special sessions focused on nano materials, nano processing, nano bio and nano photonics and electronics, with an overall importance on nanotechnology commercialization.

When:

Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Quotes:

Sharell Mikesell, PhD, co-director for the Center for Multifunctional Polymer Nanomaterials and Devices (CMPND), the lead organizing sponsor for the 2007 Ohio Nanotechnology Summit:
"Ohio consistently ranks in the top 10 states for nanotechnology activity. We have a long history of technological pioneering. Combining this longstanding innovative culture with Ohio's legacy in Polymers and Advanced Materials, our research assets and our progressive industrial infrastructure, we can propel Ohio to the top. However, it takes the collaborative efforts and intellectual cross-pollination prompted by events like the Ohio Nanotechnology Summit to expand our competitive advantage."

Jack Uldrich, author The Next Big Thing Is Really Small: How Nanotechnology Will Change the Future of Your Business, and president of the NanoVeritas Group. An excerpt from the book follows:
"Businesses which understand the science of nanotechnology, grasp the power of exponential growth, and keep an open mind to the possibilities which nanotechnology will enable cannot only survive the future they can prosper in it."

Editors' Note: Keynote speaker Jack Uldrich is a high-profile industry consultant and author. He and other spokespersons can be available for a limited number of scheduled interviews upon request.
