Abstract:
Sigma-Aldrich (Nasdaq:SIAL), a leading $1.8 billion Life Science and High Technology company, is
pleased to announce the signing of an agreement with Nanocor, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of AMCOL International Corp. (NYSE: ACO), to distribute Nanomer(R) montmorillonite nanoclays globally. Potential uses of the Nanomer nanoclays include development of ultra-strong, flame retardant
and chemically resistant plastics.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sigma-Aldrich will market and
distribute research quantities (less than 1 kg) of six Nanomer(R) nanoclays
through the Sigma-Aldrich Materials Science initiative of its Research
Specialties business.
"We believe that the new nanoclays are an important extension to our
line of products. They complement our current selection of nanomaterials
and significantly expand the choice of materials that scientists and
engineers can use to develop cutting-edge technologies and applications,"
said Dr. Ilya Koltover, Product Manager, Sigma-Aldrich Materials Science.
Dr. Tie Lan, General Manager of the Nanocor, added: "The distribution
agreement is aimed to make our products available to many researchers
worldwide."
Nanocor, Inc. will continue to offer larger quantities of the Nanomer
clays through its global distribution network. Visit the Sigma-Aldrich Web
