Modern technology can tackle cancer: Dr. Kalam

Abstract:
The deadly cancer disease should be tackled with ultra modern technology, suggested President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.

Speaking after inaugurating the Linear Acclerator Centre built jointly by JSS and Bharath Charitable Trust at the Bharath Cancer Hospital in Hebbal here yesterday, he said that the study of stem cells in the patient's body will help in the prevention of spreading of cancer. Using modern technology, cancer cells can be easily located and the spreading of the disease prevented, he said.

Using Information Technology and Nanotechnology along with bio-technology, research is on in the field of oncology. India too is on the progress path to tackle cancer, he explained.
