Abstract:
Investing Luminaries Wilbur Ross and Josh Wolfe to Deliver Opening and Closing Keynotes at NanoBusiness Investors Forum, April 17th in NYC
The NanoBusiness Alliance today announced that Wilbur Ross, chairman and CEO of W.L. Ross & Co., and Josh Wolfe, co-founder and Managing Partner of Lux Capital will be delivering keynotes at the NanoBusiness 2007 Conference at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City from April 15 - 17, 2007.
Billionaire investor Wilbur L. Ross Jr. will open the conference by discussing the potential of nanotechnology as a source of innovative products and solutions for established industries. Ross, who is also Chairman of the Board and an investor in Nano-Tex, was one of the first financiers to recognize the investment opportunities presented by this promising technology and has expressed his concern at the lack of technology innovation in established manufacturing industries. His belief in the transformational potential of nanotech has led him to enter a general partnership with Masters Capital Nanotechnology, a firm with multiple investments in companies with nano-enabled products. "Being able to see the investment potential of young nanotech companies can be challenging," commented Ross, "but I believe that many of our large ‘old economy' businesses will become nano companies out of a need for innovation and this will drive significant returns for shrewd investors in this sector."
The closing keynote for NanoBusiness 2007 will be delivered by Josh Wolfe, a pioneer in emerging technology investment with Lux Capital and editor of the Forbes/Wolfe Nanotech Report. Wolfe will share his broad perspective on the investment climate for nanotechnology-enabled companies and his predictions for which applications will be on the leading-edge of commercialization in the coming years. "Nanotechnology is leading the next wave of innovation and entrepreneurship," said Wolfe. "Investors must be informed and aware of the challenges and opportunities or risk being seriously disadvantaged."
"Our opening and closing keynotes illustrate how nanotechnology business today is being driven both by long-standing, established investors, as well as those who are squarely focused on emerging technology," said Vincent Caprio, Vice President and Event Director for the NanoBusiness Alliance. "We're proud to welcome Mr. Ross and Mr. Wolfe to our esteemed family of presenters."
Set in the heart of New York City, the NanoBusiness 2007 conference will bring together financial luminaries from Wall Street like Wilbur Ross and the CEOs of the most promising nanotechnology companies in the industry. These companies are on the frontier of global innovation in sectors such as "cleantech" - renewable energy and clean water, advanced materials, healthcare, defense, textiles, electronics and construction. The conference focuses on the commercial aspects of nanotechnology in each of these sectors and provides a forum for capital providers and innovators to meet, build relationships and learn from each other's perspectives.
