Pittsburgh patents

Abstract:
Seagate Technology LLC, for "Complex transverse AC magneto-optic susceptometer for determination of volume and anisotropy field distribution in recording media, No. 7,166,997." Inventors were Ganping Ju, Wexford; Roy W. Chantrell and Hong Zhou, both of Pittsburgh; and Dieter K. Weller, Gibsonia. The present invention relates generally to methods used to determine magnetic properties of materials. In particular, this invention relates to systems that determine the grain size distribution, .sigma..sub.V, and anisotropy field distribution, .sigma..sub.HK, in thin film granular or nanoparticle material.
