Cable network connects

Abstract:
SABRENet is a joint project of the three universities and the State Government and has received more than $8 million in federal funding.

"The technology revolution is reshaping society much as the industrial revolution reshaped society so many decades ago,'' Federal Education Minister Julie Bishop said.

"Researchers are grasping today with challenges that were not even on the radar just a few years ago.

"These challenges relate to the environment, medicine, international security - a whole range of issues.

"The scale of the challenges mean researchers have got to be able o respond on a large scale and a small scale, such as nanotechnology. They have to have the tools to respond, whatever the challenge.
