2 Ithaca firms in running for $100K prize
Abstract:
Two Ithaca-based companies were among the nine semifinalists announced Thursday for a $100,000 prize put up by an economic development consortium seeking to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in Upstate New York.
Primet Precision Materials manufactures an extensive array of nano particles for ceramics, coatings and energy applications in the nanotechnology designer materials sector. Backed in part by the Ithaca-based venture capital organization the Cayuga Venture Fund, the company has a license to commercialize certain Cornell-developed technology, according to the company Web site.
