Metro people Ronald Thomas
Abstract:
Ronald Thomas, president of Dakota County Technical College, will be one of 10 national recipients of the Star of Education Award this year presented by the National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium. The group selected Thomas for the award for his contributions to career technical education. He will be presented the honor March 23 in Washington.
Why he is getting the award: Sharon LaComb, college vice president, nominated Thomas for the award for developing cutting-edge programs that train workers in the emerging field of nanotechnology, starting a program to address a severe shortage of railroad conductors and responding to the needs of business and industries.
