Zimbabwe: Research Council Symposium Ends On High Note
Abstract:
Future challenges for knowledge-based development included embracing nanotechnology, stem cell research, energy research and unlocking value in ICT innovations, robotics and building confidence for inventions.
Nanotechnology is an emerging field of applied science and technology covering a broad range of topics to cut costs through the development of smaller units of objects.
RCZ chairman Dr Francis Gudyanga bemoaned the lack of funding of research projects which he said was still inadequate for research institutions to make an impact on the economy.
"Science alone cannot save Zimbabwe, but Zimbabwe without science cannot be saved," he said, calling on the Government to prioritise research funding.
