Abstract:
Booth #2010

Malvern Instruments, who last year extended its areas of activity by adding powerful NIR (near infrared) chemical imaging technology to its Analytical Imaging portfolio of systems for materials characterization, will launch new products at Pittcon 2007 in two key application areas.

Malvern to launch new systems at Pittcon 2007

Malvern, UK | Posted on February 1st, 2007

The first of these is a new addition to the company's Near Infrared chemical imaging (NIRCI) product line, which will add additional capability in terms of speed of data acquisition and increased sensitivity.

Also launched at Pittcon 2007 is a new option for Malvern's Zetasizer Nano system. The new flow mode option enables the coupling of dynamic light scattering with size exclusion chromatography, conferring the ability to perform Absolute Size Exclusion Chromatography (ASEC). This allows protein size to be measured directly rather than relying on column calibration and means that molecular weight standards are no longer required to identify oligomeric species or determine protein purity.

The Zetasizer Nano was designed specifically to meet the low concentration and small sample volume requirements of protein and other biomolecular applications. Its patented optical design and high sensitivity capabilities can also be applied to real time flow measurements, facilitating the use of the system as a chromatography detector.

More details will be available at Pittcon 2007. Further information about Malvern's complete product range can be found at http://www.malvern.com/
