Abstract:
The Pittcon 2007 Exposition of Scientific Instrumentation will showcase over 1,000 exhibiting companies that manufacture and market products for laboratory scientific products, including major instrumentation for chemical analysis, laboratory equipment and supplies, and that offer a variety of key services to laboratories in the industrial, academic, and government sectors. The Exposition will highlight the latest analytical and spectroscopic technologies and breakthroughs for bioanalytical and biomedical chemistry, pharmaceutical science and drug discovery chemistry, nanotechnology, environmental, forensics, food analysis, homeland security, among others.
The Exposition is international in scope, with approximately 16% of the exhibiting companies based in a variety of countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
Pittcon 2007, February 25 to March 2, McCormick Place South, Chicago, Illinois, marks the 58th Pittsburgh Conference on Analytical Chemistry and Applied Spectroscopy. Three companies, Brinkmann Instruments, Inc., PANalytical, and Parr Instrument Company, will be recognized for 50 years of exhibiting at Pittcon in an award ceremony during an onsite Pittcon Press Conference on Sunday, February 25, at 3:00 p.m. When asked to comment on the long term relationship with Pittcon, Gjalt Kuiperes, Managing Director AMEC, PANalytical, stated, "Our attendance at Pittcon is essential to the long term success of our business. It is truly the anchor for the year. Our international marketing efforts are planned around the show. Because Pittcon has such a wide range of attendees we can reach new prospects, there by extending the markets we can address to be successful."
The several enhancements to the 2007 Exposition include: three specialized neighborhoods on the exposition floor for New Exhibitor Areas, Life Sciences Exhibitors, and Laboratory Informatics (LIMS) area; the poster session will be in the center of the exhibit space to promote traffic to booths; exhibitors will be permitted to use overhead lighting in booths; the registration area will be located on the exposition floor to allow easy access to the exhibits.
