Chamber mulls vigorous Web campaign to lure tech capital

Abstract:
From a technical perspective, Yates said Georgia is in the top tier of states—but some sectors are more advanced than others. "We are very strong in software and information technology and growing in biotech," he said. "But there are other applied technologies where we have a lot of work being done but the sector is not well organized."

He cited nanotechnology as an area in which much research is under way. But he said no company has yet emerged that Georgia can point to as a leader in the field. "We have not seen commercialized results yet," Yates said.
