'Confluence of technologies to help conquer cancer'
Abstract:
A confluence of genetics, molecular biology, information technology, nanotechnology and biometrics is heralding an exciting future for cancer cure, according to Washington University Cancer Institute former head M V Pillai.
Pillai said that the confluence of these technologies would be of much help in 'conquering' cancer. "To conquer cancer means preventing its occurrence, detecting it early and curing it. If all these are not possible, conquering cancer also involves converting cancer into manageable diseases and treating them," he said.
