Home > Press > Nanotechnology: Appointment of a new NanoQuébec interim CEO
Abstract:
Mr. Jean Bourbonnais, Chairman of the Board of NanoQuébec, announces the departure of Mr. Robert Nault, CEO of NanoQuébec since 2005, whose primary mandate was to promote industry-university collaboration on nanotechnology projects. "The quality of the proposals received by our support programs stands as proof of the success of that mandate," Mr. Bourbonnais remarked. "Thanks to Mr. Nault's efforts, NanoQuébec was the first Canadian nanotechnology organization to develop a positioning strategy built around targeted industrial sectors and application categories. We wish to thank Robert Nault for his invaluable contribution to NanoQuébec."
NanoQuébec's Board of Directors has initiated a recruitment process to select a new CEO for the organization. During the search process, Mr. Sylvain Cofsky, Director of Regional and Industrial Development, will serve as interim CEO, taking on the direction of ongoing projects with the support of the Board and the Chairman. A key figure within the organization since 2003, Mr. Cofsky and his team will lead NanoQuébec in following its action plan and promoting the economic viability of basic research and helping the results find industrial applications.
"I wish to thank the Board of Directors for its vote of confidence. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite the scientific and industrial communities to join us at the Nano2007 conference, to be held on February 7 at the Hyatt Regency Montreal. This important event will provide an opportunity for NanoQuébec to unveil its positioning strategy for the coming years. The strategy is built on projects with strong potential and on meeting the needs of key players in Quebec's nanotechnology sector," Mr. Cofsky said
