Sirim to play more critical role in industrial growth
Abstract:
THE Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP: 2006-2010) has provided Sirim Bhd with the opportunity to play a more critical role in the development of industries in the country.
Wan Zaharah said the company is currently looking at several industries to help them be more productive such as the electrical and appliances industry, machinery and equipment, oil and gas, chemical industry, industrial biotechnology and automotive.
"There are other areas that we are also looking into which are new to us like the renewable energy," she said.
She added that the new technology innovations are in the areas of convergence of ICT (information and communications technology), biotechnology and nanotechnology.
