Community must move forward past Lockheed's loss
Abstract:
Lockheed and other local companies continue to draw in lucrative defense and federal contracts, and their presence is vital to the community's economic health. But the community needs to continue do develop other businesses that can complement their work as well as encourage new sectors of innovation. Binghamton University provides a fine example of this approach with its research efforts in biotechnology and nanotechnology.
