Scope at Ames lab sharpens state focus on atomic matter

Abstract:
Forget microscopic. Ames Laboratory officials and Iowa State University researchers say the future of science lies in matter much smaller.

Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy laboratory are now able to study the structure of materials at the atomic level with unprecedented clarity thanks to a newly acquired $1.8 million scanning transmission electron microscope.
